Collaboration with MAMIDECOT

Rearing crickets is currently an attractive enterprise to get involved into! In an effort to support the small-holder farmers that want to start this new business, one of the leading microfinance institutions in Uganda, called Masaka Microfinance and Development Cooperative Trust Limited (MAMIDECOT)  has agreed to join the Flying Food Project initiative. MAMIDECOT is an indigenous member based financial institution, whose objective is to provide a mechanism through which low income people in the greater Masaka region, could save and borrow at low interest rates in order to meet their members` socio–economic needs. Currently, MAMIDECOT operates in the Greater Masaka Region to with a mission of providing quality financial and social services to members of the society in Masaka and neighbouring districts. MAMIDECOT envisions being a sustainable financial institution with transformed and prosperous members. It aims to alleviate poverty amongst its members in the rural and urban setting especially the financially excluded, marginalised women and youths.
