New farmers are starting with crickets in Gulu in Northern Uganda. Gertjan Flikweert of Foundation Hope voor Afrika is working on microcredits and innovative farming technologies in this region. Crickets will fit perfectly here; many smallholder farmers can expand their activities and create a welcome new source of proteins and income. In the week of 17 till 20 August 2021 our local Flying Food trainer Esther Amoding has trained the local farmers on equipment, farm arrangement, feeding preparation, harvesting and processing. A small farm is constructed and the first cricket are hatching. We wish all farmers success!
